• Blessings of these moments in time

    October 7th, 2025

On Sunday, my son learned how to ride his bike without training wheels.

He’s ridden before with training wheels, but recently the bike hadn’t caught his interest. That day, though, he asked to sit outside. My husband noticed him fiddling with the bike on the ground and asked, “Do you want to ride it?”

My son looked up and replied, “But the tires are flat.”

Without hesitation, my husband took the bike to the barn, aired up the tires, and gave our son a little push. In one moment, everything changed. He took off—steady, confident, and free. No hesitation, no wobbles—just pure joy as he pedaled down the driveway.

I was inside when my husband called me and said, “You need to come outside right now. I have a feeling you won’t want to miss this.”

    And he was right.

As soon as I stepped outside, I saw my son ride past the house. My heart nearly burst. Tears welled up as I realized I was witnessing a milestone—one of those moments that etches itself into your memory forever.

That night, as I laid in bed praying to Jesus, I realized I hadn’t stopped to thank Him for the small things. I often pray over the big needs, the stresses, and the dreams, but how often do I pause to thank Him for the everyday blessings that make life rich?

I’m thankful for my vision—that I could watch my son ride his bike for the very first time.
I’m thankful for the ability to walk outside and be present in that moment.
I’m thankful to afford a device in my hand that let me capture the memory on video.
I’m thankful for the gift of motherhood, which allows my heart to experience the depth of love and joy in moments just like this.

Life is full of these seemingly small, ordinary moments that end up being extraordinary when we choose gratitude.

So today, I want to encourage you: pause and thank God for the little things. The sight of your child’s smile. The sound of laughter around your dinner table. The feeling of fresh air as you step outside. These are not small—they are gifts.

Because one day, we’ll look back and realize the “little things” were always the big things.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

  • Stop Scrolling, Start Living Loved

    September 29th, 2025

Have you ever caught yourself scrolling through Instagram or TikTok, thinking “Why can’t I look like her?” or “She has everything together, and I’m just a mess”? You’re not alone. I am 32 years old and I still find myself in that seemingly never-ending cycle. We all wrestle with comparison at some point—whether it’s looks, clothes, friendships, or even someone’s relationship with God.

But here’s the truth: comparison will always leave you feeling “less than,” because it was never meant to define you. God already spoke your worth before the world ever tried to measure it.

    The Trap of Comparison

Comparison feels so natural—like it sneaks in before we even realize it. But it does exactly what Jesus warned us about in John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” ESV

    Comparison steals your joy.
    It kills your confidence.
It destroys the unique story God is writing in your beautiful life.

When you spend your energy wishing you were someone else, you lose sight of who God created you to be. One thing I’m learning is this walk with God, is something I have to work at every single day. I once heard a quote that said “I hope when I wake up, Jesus gets into my head before I do.” That’s one of the truest things I have ever heard!

What God Says About Your Worth

Here’s what’s real: your worth doesn’t come from your reflection in the mirror, your grades, your popularity, or your instagram or TikTok feed. It comes from the Lord—the One who made you and calls you His.

📖 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:14
📖 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” — Ephesians 2:10
📖 “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.” — Isaiah 43:1

Read those again slowly. Masterpiece. Wonderfully made. Mine. THAT is who you are in Christ. No filter or follower count can add to it—or take it away.

Breaking Free from the Comparison Game

So what do you do when comparison whispers “you’re not enough”? Here are a few practical ways to fight back:

    • Limit the scroll. If social media triggers the trap, step back. Guard your heart.
    • Swap lies for truth. When you think, “I’m not pretty enough,” REPLACE it with God’s truth: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
    • Practice gratitude. Thank God for how He uniquely designed you. Gratitude kills comparison at the root.
    • Fix your eyes on Jesus. When you focus on Him, your worth is anchored in something unshakable.

    A Final Word of Encouragement

Girlfriend, you don’t have to measure up to her—you only need to live out who God made you to be. The world may tell you to be “more,” but God whispers, “You are Mine, and you are enough.”

So the next time comparison creeps in, pause and remind yourself:

    ✨ I am chosen.
    ✨ I am loved.
✨ I am created on purpose.

    A Prayer for You

Lord, I lift up every girl who feels trapped in comparison. Remind her that she is Your masterpiece—uniquely made, deeply loved, and fully known. Help her see herself the way You see her, and free her from the lie that she has to measure up to anyone but You. Amen.
